Autumn is the season of Stoic events, and I’d like to share three I will be participating in this year:
Conversations with Modern Stoicism (Sep. 9)
Stoic Wisdom for Mental Health and Wellbeing Professionals (Sep. 28)
Stoicon (Oct. 21)
And one in-person event hosted by my colleagues at The Aurelius Foundation:
Stoic Icons: The Legacy of Seneca, Epictetus, Cicero, Marcus Aurelius (Sep. 23)
See below for more details and links to each event. And to see more upcoming Stoic gatherings happening online and all over the world, check out the Modern Stoicism events calendar.
Conversations with Modern Stoicism (Sep. 9)
Every month Modern Stoicism hosts a free online event to highlight a particular Stoic topic. It’s designed to be interactive—audience members have a chance to interact with the speaker and with each other. The result is some pretty remarkable in-depth discussions about Stoic living. In September I’ll be speaking about an important and frequently misunderstood topic: good emotions in Stoicism.

Stoicon 2023: Beautiful Stoics (Oct. 21)
This year’s Stoicon has an extra special theme: Beautiful Stoics! I am so excited about this program—so many of my favorite philosophers talking about the connection between Stoicism and beauty. We will also get to hear a musical recital by Sharon Lebell, a talk on “Dancing with the Stoics” by Nancy Sherman, and a keynote address by noted psychologist John Vervaeke. It will be a one-of-a-kind event!
