Free Event on Stoic Ethics: The Basics
Join us for a Conversation with Modern Stoicism on November 9
I’m very pleased to share that Chris Gill and I will be joining Modern Stoicism Conversations to talk about our new book Stoic Ethics: The Basics on Saturday, November 9 at 10 am ET.
At this monthly free event, the emphasis is on conversations. First you’ll see a brief talk by Chris and me, and then you’ll have a chance to discuss the same topics with other participants. We really want to emphasize the community aspect of practicing Stoicism alongside other people who may have the same types of questions that you do. It’s a wonderful opportunity to interact with Stoics from all walks of life, hear about other people’s experiences with Stoicism, and maybe get some new perspectives on Stoic practice.
You can register here for our upcoming conversation on Stoic Ethics: The Basics.
And two other announcements:
Stoic Week starts next Monday (October 28)
This is another free online event where you can learn about and practice Stoicism alongside thousands of other prokoptons from around the world. Over 7 days you will experience videos, meditations, lessons, and the opportunity to implement Stoicism in your life under the guidance of two wonderful instructors. Why not sign up and give it a try?
Stoicon Videos Now Available
Several talks from our recent Stoicon 2024 are now available to watch on Modern Stoicism’s YouTube channel. The theme this year was cosmopolitanism, so many of the talks examined the ways in which Stoicism helps us to relate to other people, both near and far. It was an excellent conference and I highly recommend having a look at the presentations. Here are a couple that have already been posted:
