I’m excited to announce some new steps here at Stoicism for Humans! I’m going to be devoting a bit more time to this publication, so here’s what’s changing:
Weekly Posts
Friday posts will come out 3-4 times per month instead of twice a month. That means essays will appear almost every week, with occasional pauses when my attention is needed elsewhere.
One-Minute Multisensory Meditations
I’m introducing a weekly one-minute multisensory meditation series. This has developed from my interest in making use of the whole suite of our human faculties (creativity, appreciation of beauty, love of nature, interoceptive abilities, etc.) in the effort toward virtue and a good life. Starting on Monday, these mini-meditations will combine beautiful images of landscapes, mellow music, an invitation to breathe deeply, and Stoic quotes. I think we can pursue wisdom more effectively if we engage multiple senses and elevate our meditative experience. I personally enjoy learning through beautiful pictures and music, and I hope you will too.
Donations will be accepted!
I’m turning on the option for monthly subscriptions for the first time ever. I plan to continue making my posts available for free so that everyone can access them, but if you believe my work is worth supporting, please consider making a monthly donation. You can help cover the costs of my books. Should anyone wish to become a founding member, you can directly request essays or meditations from me on a topic of your choice!
Updated About Page
Just in case you’re wondering why I write this publication, or what my goals are within the bigger picture of contemporary Stoicism, have a look at the updated About page. Let me know if you think I am accomplishing this mission, or if you have any ideas to make it better.
Thank you for being a loyal reader of Stoicism for Humans. I think it’s wonderful that we can come together from all over the world in pursuit of a meaningful life through Stoic philosophy. I look forward to seeing you around more often!
